Diocesan Commission for Integral Human Development - Coastal Cleanup at Lung Ha Wan
日期: 18/03/2026
Even with grey skies and powerful gusts of wind, a group of conscientious students showed that a little rain wouldn't stop them from helping the planet. On 28 February, 2026, they headed to Lung Ha Wan for a clean-up that turned into a real lesson in taking care of nature. Even though the weather was rough, everyone felt like they were doing something that was purposeful. They got soaked and wind-blown, but they spent an hour picking up stuff like plastic bottles and old fishing gear.
For a lot of them, the tough conditions just made the day more meaningful—a small trade-off for a healthier ocean. One student said that seeing all the trash was a total wake-up call and made them realize that protecting the environment is something we just have to do. The whole event was a big reminder of why we need to look after our natural spots. While they worked, they started talking about how to stop the trash from getting there in the first place. By the time they left, everyone was determined to not only keep helping out but also change their own habits to waste less. Their point is simple: if we want clean beaches, we have to rethink what we're throwing out. Rain or shine, these students proved that one good deed can lead to a much cleaner future.
