2nd Runner-up in “BuilDING OUR FUTURE Grand Challenge”

Last week, four S4 students proudly secured the 2nd Runner-Up in the “BuilDING OUR FUTURE Grand Challenge”, a prestigious STEAM competition focused on innovative urban ecological solutions under the theme “Nature in the City: Smart Connections for Sustainable Living”. Our students demonstrated impressive creativity in proposing ways to integrate natural ecosystems within Hong Kong’s dense urban environment. Aiming to enhance community wellbeing through sustainable and smart urban habitats, students applied cutting-edge technology (Arduino with IoT and use of AI in building an app) in their project.

The event offered participants exclusive access to Master Classes led by industry experts on design thinking and innovation technologies, equipping them with skills that go beyond the competition. Our students’ success highlights their outstanding abilities and achievements. It also reflects our school’s commitment to creating a learning environment where students can excel in STEAM disciplines and address global challenges with creativity.

As 2nd Runner-Up, our team earned the exciting opportunity to represent Hong Kong and compete with top teams from Singapore in the next stage of the challenge. Students will participate in a 3-day, 2-night exchange tour to Singapore in March 2026. This achievement highlights their strong teamwork, innovative thinking, and commitment to applying STEAM knowledge for real-world ecological challenges.
